14 Ways to Say I Love You to Your Significant Other

Valentine’s Day is already almost here. It seems like we were just celebrating the new year. So before we let any more time go by, I thought I would share 14 ways to say I love you to your husband, significant other, or partner.

  1. Leave a sticky note on their steering wheel in the morning, telling them to have a good day.
  2. Write on the mirror with lipstick I Love You.
  3. Make their favorite meal for a date night in at home.
  4. Make dinner more special by eating by candlelight, and a nice bottle of wine or homemade cocktails served in long-stemmed wine glasses.
  5. Put a love letter in their underwear drawer, so they will see it when they dressed after their shower.
  6. Warm their bath towel in the dryer for them while they are in the shower, so it is warm when they get out.
  7. Help them with their nightly chores they usually do (at my house, we live on a small farm, so we help each other with the sheep and other farm tasks).
  8. Take time to listen to them, and how their day went, without judgment, and will complete care and love for what they do every day.
  9. Give them a back rub. Then if your hands are still not too tired, give them a full body rub (arms, hands, legs, feet).
  10. Get them tickets to a concert they have been dying to go to, or an event (tractor pull, monster truck show) they have been wanting to see.
  11. Make them breakfast, cooked with love, featuring all the breakfast things they love (ex: bacon, sausage, eggs, gravy, biscuits).
  12. Surprise them with a renewing of your vows. You can go all out, or keep it private.
  13. Send flowers to their workplace with a love note telling them just how much they mean to you.
  14. Take them on a weekend getaway to a hotel, a Bed & Breakfast, a cabin in the woods(I love this one), or to visit a city you both love(I love this one too!).
  15. **Bonus and one you can do every day of the year not just on Valentine’s Day, tell them “I Love You”. Just because and because it’s important, and because it’s free, and because it shouldn’t take any extra work to tell the person you love just how much you really love them.

Most of those are free, except for a few. Most of them only really take time. Most of the ones that do cost, will take time also, but will be an experience for the both of you. And quite honestly, all 15 of them will benefit you both. Because when you give your time, effort, love, or money to the one you love, you get back love, and the grateful feeling that you helped to make them feel good and loved. They will love you back. Thus begins the beauty of balance in relationships.
