About me

Hi everyone! Welcome to Sweenolia. On this blog I want to collect and chronicle all the things I love: style, books, cooking, and general nuggets of inspiration. I am so excited to finally start this blog. It has been a dream for about 5 or 6 years now.
I absolutely love clothes and style. My mom and I thrift store shop and consignment shop all the time. In fact, this has been something she and I have done for over 20 years I know, maybe longer. So I know what you’re thinking…”thrift store shopping, how can you find anything classy at a thrift store?”. Well, my mama taught me my whole life to look very classy, modest, and very well put together. So when I shop, whether it is at a thrift store, consignment store, or Target, to always buy what looks neat, polished, and classy. I have always been into the classy and pretty polished look, so that is what I shop for most of the time. But I do tend to be somewhat eclectic at times. I’m one of those that likes a lot of different styles.
I also love love love books and magazines. I love the actual paper books and paper magazines. But I can be known to read the occassional book on my phone. I for many years always read Self-Help or Non-Fiction. However, this past year I have found a new love for Fiction. I am thoroughly loving getting lost in another world. When I was younger, my favorite books were American Girl books, then it became The Babysitter’s Club and then in high school, Sweet Valley High. I would still love to get my hands on the entire collection of Sweet Valley High someday and reread them again. Magazines though, are really a huge obsession of mine ever since I was a little girl. I am probably one of the few people who actually still buys magazines. I read a wide range of magazines: Joanna Gaines’s Magnolia, Ree Drummond’s The Pioneer Woman, Porter, Cosmo, Red, New Beauty, Domino, Arch Digest, and many more. I also love Podcasts, You Tube, Instagram, movies, and my husband and I watch a plethora of TV shows each week.
Something else you can be sure to find on here is my love for cooking. While having a full time job(that is not this blog), I hate figuring out what to cook at 4pm when I get home. I have learned over the years, that with a plan in place, or menu, of what I plan to cook makes the cooking process much more enjoyable, and I don’t feel as rushed or frazzled trying to figure out what to cook at the last minute. I know Grocery services and meal kits are a huge thing right now, but they can be kinda pricey, and I am more of a homemade kind of girl. I would love to try one of them sometime, but I wouldn’t want to completely depend on it. So instead, I make my own menus each week. This helps so much and I am saving money in the process and making supper time much less frazzled.
One of my main passions besides for fashion, reading and cooking, is writing. My entire life I have loved to write. I wish to continue my love for writing and expand my skills on this blog.
I hope you enjoy this blog as much as I do writing it.
Cheers to you all!
Libby
