8 Fun Facts About Me

I thought I would share 8 fun facts about me, so you can get to know me a little bit better. A few of them may surprise you, so here they are.

1. I am naturally kind of goofy (not comedian wise…most of the time I don’t even get jokes), but more I sometimes do goofy things that will cause me to laugh uncontrollably. I can make myself laugh just by the things I do, which is crazy I know, but that’s who I am. Put me and my mom together for a few hours, shopping or traveling, and you have a recipe for lots of laughter and tears shed from laughing so hard. Love you mom, and our fun times!

2. So this one was slightly given away in number 1, but I will elaborate. I don’t get most jokes. I have gotten better, being married to my husband who is a jokester, but he still looks at me after a joke, and says, “you didn’t get it did you?”. I used to never laugh at tv shows mainly because I didn’t get it. But now I can laugh until I cry, watching sitcoms, whether I get the joke or not. If I don’t get the joke or think it was something else, I will laugh even harder.

3. Sports have always been one of my favorite things. I l love sports….like love them! Basketball , specifically Kentucky basketball, has been my favorite since I was a kid. I grew up with a dad who was a Kentucky fan because he is from Kentucky. Right now, we are so glad to have NCAA basketball tournament to watch. I also watch Baseball with my husband, and we now watch Football together also. Our top 3 NFL teams we like are: KC Chiefs, Tampa Buccs, and Packers.

4. In Junior High and High School, I was a runner in Track and Cross Country. My favorite thing about running was the motivating and disciplining myself part. Every meet, I would read a book my dad gave me called “Yes, You Can” by John Maxwell. (There is no telling how many times I have read that book…it’s self-help.). I would ingrain into my head that I could do better at this race than the last one, and consistently saw good results. I love working on training my mind to do and believe I can do better.

5. Fruity Pebbles with marshmallows, are my favorite cereal. My husband laughs when we go to the store and put my unicorn debbie cakes and fruity pebbles with marshmallows on the checkout belt. He says “it looks like we have a house full of toddlers with the unicorn snacks and fruity pebble with marshmallow cereal”. I just laugh. What can I say, I’m a kid at heart. But before you get confused by my previous posts, I have not had those cereals or Debbie cakes in quite a while now(we’re talking like 4-6months or actually probably longer). But they will always be my favorite sweet and unhealthy pleasure.

6. As a teenager, I had really bad acne. God bless my mom who bought bottles and bottles of Mary Kay to help my face, but I really believe it was a hormone thing. My freshman and sophmore year, my acne started going away. As an adult I haven’t had acne much. The only time I get acne now is, again, hormonal.

7. My favorite show as a child was Avonlea which aired on the Disney channel back then. My Granny got me hooked on this show. I even still watch it sometimes (the library has a few DVDs of it).

8. I reread books a lot. I know…why, right? Well, when I find a book I really like, I will read it over and over again. Probably lots of hours have been wasted rereading books, but I like what I like.
