Calm Evenings With Ambiance
How a room feels, ambiance or cozy wise, has always been very important to me. I remember when my husband (boyfriend at the time), helped me re-arrange my bedroom one night. I told him I wanted the bed in the corner at a diagnol. He said that is wasting so much space. My answer: It makes the room more inviting. He followed up by saying something along the lines of: why does your bedroom need to be inviting. LOL. He had a good point. But every since I was a little girl, where my bed was placed was very important (yeah I’m weird…I know).
Well, how does that story tie in to calm evenings with ambiance like the title states? Well, I am the same way with the living room, and all the other rooms. Now I have to say that I am not a decorator. My husband would say that is one thing I am not. But making a room feel cozy with lighting and candles and placement of furniture, that I can do.
I strive to be cozy at almost all times. Which again, my husband will laugh about. He will say I work so hard just to get cozy and get everything around me right before I can relax. Yes, that is true.
How a room, home, or place makes me feel, has been a good guide throughout my life. There have been times that when I walk into a home, I immediately feel unsettled or uncomfortable. Like I don’t belong or something is wrong.
I also always try to make my home feel inviting if we are having company over (which isn’t very often really). I guess all in all I just always want to feel as calm and comfortable at home as possible. It is my haven, my space, and very homey.
As I write this I am listening to London Grammar Radio on Spotify, a candle we always burn this time of year, and a small lamp light aglow. It is giving me very cozy vibes and comfort.
What are some ways you make you create ambiance in your home? Well, have a great day!
