  • Bath & Body Works Fall Lotions I Bought and Love
Every new season of the year, Bath & Body Works comes out with new scents for each particular season. This year, I wanted to scour the store for all the best Fall scents. So a few weeks ago, I went to the store when they had the Buy 3 Get 3 Free sale. Then again the other day, my Hubby dropped me off at the mall and I visited the store. I walked away with 2 more scents. A few of these new scents are now my favorites of all time. The scents I bought are: I wanted the Pumpkin scented lotion, but both times they have been sold out of it. Pumpkin everything just screams Fall and cozy life. I absolutely love the fact that they have named a scent Book Loft and Sweater Weather. How cozy and chic are these phrases. It’s giving You’ve Got Mail and Gilmore Girls vibes. It doesn’t get any better than that IMO. The Sweater Weather scents almost smells like the old Freesia scent from the 90s that was my absolute favorite. That is one scent I wish they would bring back. Hey Bath & Body Works, please bring back the Freesia from the 90s. I would be so grateful!! Anyone else agree with me? Last year, I bought Autumn Drive(which they still have with new outside bottle design). I highly recommend this very Fall scent. A few others I bought last year were In The Stars and Platinum. What are some of your favorite scents this season? Share them in the comments. *This post is not sponsored and there are no affiliate links. I just truly love Bath and Body Works and want to share their items.
  • The Best Eye Makeup Remover I’ve Ever Used
For years, I have been a big eyeliner and mascara person. Over the years, to prevent smearing and wearing off, I have transitioned to waterproof eyeliner and mascara. Waterproof eye makeup is my absolute fave kind of eye makeup. Well, with waterproof eye makeup comes the trouble of removing it at the end of the day. Just using a wet wash cloth and trying to rub it off your eyes, is very harsh on your delicate eyelashes, and eye skin. This is a very tender area on your face, so harsh abrasion is not recommended. Not washing off your eye makeup is a good way to hurt your eye skin, and also make your eyelashes fall out(trust me on the eyelash thing…I have been there). If you are like me, you can’t afford to lose any more of your eyelashes than you’ve already lost. My eyelashes are precious and I try to take very good care of them. (Not reviewing in this post, but have been seeing a lot about eyelash serums all over Insta). This post though, is all about my absolute favorite and best eye makeup remover I have ever used. Garnier Micellar Cleansing Water is very gentle on your eyes, the skin around your eyes, and your eyelashes. I use makeup remover pads that are throw-away or you can use re-usable pads. With just a little bit squirted into the center of the pad, this is enough to remove my makeup. I always use both sides of the pad. More than one pad may be necessary if you wear a lot of eye makeup. This makeup rates a 10 in my opinion. Not only can you get this at your local department store, it is less than $10 as well, which is always a win with me. I have also linked it here for you.
  • Fall 2024 TV Shows I Am Loving & Ones I Am Looking Forward To
I had a great relaxing weekend at home doing chores, cooking, cleaning, and working on the blog. There were two really enjoyable things I did. One of those things was hanging out with my momma on Saturday, shopping at thrift stores, and ending up at Barnes & Noble. Another really great thing was sitting on the back porch with my husband, by the fire, with party lights, and watching tv. We went Sunday and bought a TV at Best Buy that was on sale for less than $80 that we decided to use for a tv on the back porch. We are back out here again tonight watching the Jets vs. Bills game. Today’s post is all about tv show I am loving and ones I am looking forward to this Fall 2024 season. Most of these shows, my husband and I watch together. I haven’t watched several of these shows yet, but plan on streaming(speaking of streaming, if you missed my post highlighting shows on available on streaming, go check it out) them to binge and some we are DVRing already. There are just so many good shows, it’s hard to watch them all. And then with football season having started up, we watch a lot of games as well. I know this is a long list, but with streaming and bingeing, we don’t attempt to watch everything in one season. We binge on streaming the ones we didn’t get to. This is just a suggestion list for you. I hope you like it, and bookmark this page to come back to as a resource if you need to. Have a great evening!
  • Fall 2024 Amazon Prime and Paramount +Plus Shows We Are Looking Forward To
Over the past 2 years, my husband and I have really started bingeing shows on Amazon Prime and now Paramount +Plus. We usually have four or five going at a time that we stream and fully enjoy. It is one of our favorite things to do in the evenings after work, or on Sunday afternoons. Shows like Joe Pickett, Reacher, and even Beverly Hills 90210 have made it onto our binge que. We are not only finding new shows we love, but also living in some nostalgia that takes us back to our roots; our teenage era of shows we loved back in the 90s and early 2000s. There are some shows I am like “What did we ever do before bingeing shows existed?!”. Then there are other shows both of us are like, “I don’t remember it like that”. (The show we were referring to there was 90210, because we both didn’t remember it revolving around the Brandon and Brenda family as the main characters). But so far (we are currently in the 3rd season), it is really based around their family. Maybe the later episodes revolve more around just them as teenagers. I guess we will find out. But since we are talking about shows from the 90s here, we have noticed that each episode in those shows back then, all had a moral to the story. Or a good lesson to learn that hit a tough subject. This was pretty cool. As we watch this series, I have thought that the 90s were not all that bad after all. Ok, so I thought I would share some shows that you will want to binge this Fall on Amazon Prime and Paramount +Plus. I did a little research on what is coming out this season. Some series have already started, but you can stream them anytime. So this is my little roundup of shows to look forward to this Fall. Returning shows that you won’t want to miss and I know you are looking forward to are: Shows that are ready to binge but are not returning with new episodes this year from what I can tell: If you have other suggestions, put them in the comments. I would love to get new watching ideas from you! Happy watching Friends!
  • An Eco and Vegan Friendly Toothpaste
Well, back to another week. I hope you all had a good weekend and a good Memorial Day weekend last week. We went camping and it was so nice to get away for a bit. We enjoyed visiting with our friends and family that went, sitting around the campfire telling stories. I also got in a little bit of reading time but not as much as I had hoped, but it was still nice to get away. Today I thought I would share a product review. Please know, this post is not sponsored, and I am not an affiliate of the brand. This is just a brand I tried and loved. Trying new products has always been something I love to do. I especially like if the products are eco or vegan-friendly products. On this particular purchase day, I had traveled out of state to visit family and realized I forgot to bring my toothpaste. Naturally, I had to go to the store to buy some. As I scanned the shelves my eyes fell on this beautifully packaged pink tube of toothpaste called Hello. Sold. I had to have it. I love the look of eco-friendly products. Although they sometimes are higher in price by a small amount, they are more appealing to the eye and better for you and the economy. So I started using this toothpaste in December and ran out the other day, so I thought I would do the review of this product because I will be purchasing more. At the time, I bought the “sensitive” toothpaste because my teeth are very sensitive, but I plan on trying the charcoal one as well. But first here are my findings on using this toothpaste for 2 months: Overall, I will buy this product again, but I want to try the charcoal one next and the whitening one. But I give this product an A. I was curious about the brand so I went to their website to learn a little more about them, and what I found was really cool. So they have a subscription service for all of their products. I am unsure if they started this out the gate, or if it started during Covid. Either way, the subscription service would be completely worth it. They sell not only toothpaste, but toothbrushes, mouthwash, deodorant and even lip balm. So I am in! I didn’t realize they had lip balm and all the other products, so that is a big win for me! They also have a blog that gives tips, ideas, and details their products. Believe it or not, they also offer you the ability to skype with the founder! I have never heard of a company doing this but I am sure some of them do. I am behind a company that wants to better our health and planet. So supporting a company like this makes me feel like I am doing a little to help. Check them out and tell me what you think below in the comments. *This is not a sponsored post or ad. I am not being paid for reviewing this brand’s product. Libby

  • Book Review No.2: Family Affair by Debbie Macomber
The other day when I was at the library, I found a quick read, that looked like one of those comfort reads. You know, one of those books that just warms the heart. Kind of like a Hallmark movie makes you feel, all warm and fuzzy inside. I love a good, clean, and charming novel, and Debbie Macomber can always deliver. When in doubt, always look for a good Debbie Macomber novel. This particular book, was about a woman, Lacey, who had just gone through a divorce. Her husband was cheating on her, so naturally, she was cautious of getting in a relationship with another man too quickly. So after moving into a new apartment after her divorce, she had issues with her neighbor Jack. Jack fought constantly with his girlfriend and it just infuriated Lacey with each passing day. But did she ever get a chance to give her piece of mind to Jack? Well, I’m not giving any spoilers here. But this book had a major twist. With a pregant cat, a sister thrown in the mix, a job promotion, and even a wedding proposal, there were several factors that brought this book together. Let me know if you like these book reviews. I want to elaborate more on each review, but I don’t want to give spoilers if you plan on reading it. I am considering doing a monthly review of books I’ve read that month which may be more beneficial to you. Have a great day! Libby
  • Magazines That Inspire Style
Do you love magazines as much as I do? I have loved magazines since I was a little girl at my Granny’s house. Magazines like Country Woman and Victoria magazine, as well as Teen, Seventeen, YM, and more. Now I read many more magazines and have expanded my genre of magazines to food, fashion, decor, vegan/plant-based, and occasionally news magazines. To me, magazines are just as good as a book. Valuable because they are filled with lot of ideas and can be used as a resource to return to over and over again. Magazines are like books to me, in that, I love actually holding a physical magazine, marking up the pages, dog-ear pages, and cut recipes from them. They are regarded by me, the same way books are…very important and can’t be thrown away (that is, if I really love them and want to return to them over and over again). I subscribe to several magazines; the print version, of course. To be honest, I have a small fear that magazines will one day be non-existent. With everything so digital and all, I want to keep promoting the print version. Valuable. To me priceless. So, I have put together a list of a few magazines that I love and highly recommend to you if you love style, decor, or food: I hope you enjoy the world of magazines as much as I do! • New Book Coming Out: “Maame” by Jessica George…Coming out in January 2023
This book!! I got an ARC(advanced reader copy) of this book and I loved it! This book what I would classify as fictional drama. I was hesitant to do a book review on it yet, but January 2023 is just around the corner, so I thought I would go ahead and promote it because you will want to definately go get it once it is out. I will not give any spoilers in this review. Please do not give any spoilers in the comments. I will revisit this book review again on Instagram where we can talk about it once the book comes out. Maame is about a Ghanian family that has what might be considered dysfunctional relationships with one another. A family of four, not all of them living together, and not much communication. Let me explain one of the relationships…Maddie is the main character in the story and she and her father live together because he has Parkinson’s and needs a caretaker. Her father is mainly quiet so communicating with him is difficult. Maddie’s mother and father are still married, but don’t live together. Her brother lives in a town nearby but they are not close. Both Maddie and her brother James are adults trying to navigate responsibilities and dealing with their differences with each other. They are not close. Neither is Maddie with her mother. One of the relationships in the story continues to strain and makes me so sad and upset for Maddie. Maddie takes care of her dad and works at a publishing firm. This aspect of her, the working at a publishing firm, I loved. I would love to read for a living. That would be like a dream. Anyway, she has to switch jobs to another publishing firm and struggles to fit in. At the same time, she moves to a flat that she shares with other roommates, who she also somewhat struggles relationship wise with them. As the story went on, her difficulty with relationships really becomes apparant. Knowing the background of her family relationships, makes me realize that is why she is struggling with trust issues and fitting in with all her other relationships. A major blow comes to Maddie that will leave you asking “Why?”, and feeling so sad for her. I even saw a litte of myself in Maddie with different situations in my life. You feel bad for her. You hate that it happened because she was the only one that really truly cared. I must say the book was a little slow at the start, but all that information in the beginning of the book is very important in understanding the rest and understanding Maddie. The end of the story made me realize how humble Maddie really was. For that, she was very deserving of what she received, in a good way. Like I said, I am giving any spoilers, but as you read it you will know what I mean. One thing I was reminded of in the reading of this book, is that doing good and doing what is right is all that matters in the end. Sometimes we get tired of doing what is right all the time, because we see so many doing wrong and getting what they want or getting away with it. But all in all, do good and you won’t ever have to worry. You won’t ever have to lose sleep over having done someone wrong. It truly pays to be good to others and to do the right thing. This book comes out in January 2023, so be on the look out for it. I will post on Instagram about it once it gets closer to the release date. I love helping promote others’ work because I too love to write and hope to be a writer someday, and I am also a reading junky. Happy reading!! Libby *I must disclose I may receive a small commission for any purchases you make on my website. Please know I only share what I love.
