Getting Fixed Up Everyday
I am sitting in my recliner watching the wind blow as a storm blows up. I started to think about how much I enjoy getting fixed up everyday. My outfit is already picked out for tomorrow along with all the accessories to go with it.
Getting dressed, or rather, getting fixed up everyday, is one of my favorite things I to do. All the way back to when I was in High School, and a closet full of clothes, my mom and I always traded clothes or shared clothes. We loved going into each other’s closets to see what would go together. It was truly like having my best friend live with me.
We were always trying new things, adding accessories, maybe a scarf, a dangly earring. My freshman year of High School, I even kept track of the outfits I wore each day, and vowed to not wear the same outfit more than once. Now while that seems a little frivolous, fashion really did mean a lot to me, even as a teenager. I should mention though, that my mom did teach me to shop the sale racks, consignment stores, and thrift stores.
Now today, my mom and I still swap clothes, but not as often because we don’t live together. But we still call each other when we have clothes we are getting rid of, to give each other first dibs. In fact, I just called her yesterday to let her know I have a tote full of clothes she can look through before I take them to the Goodwill.
But back to the moral of the story, one thing my mom taught me was that getting fixed up everyday makes you feel better, and therefore, you work better. She always encouraged me to get fully put together. While I don’t get all dolled up as much as she does, I do love looking chic and classy. I have my days where no makeup is the choice and comfy clothes. But I try to get fixed up most every day.
I notice my mindset changes for the day when I look better. I feel better about myself. Feeling put together helps you to feel confident in yourself.
Getting fixed up also helps you to look professional. Even if you don’t wear makeup, just brushing your hair, dressing nice, makes all the difference.
Well, just a little blurb about my thoughts on getting fixed up everyday. Do you get fixed up everyday, and why? Share your thoughts in the comments.
Have a great day!!
