This Past Week in Outfits 10.14.2024
Every morning, after I get ready for work, I take a selfie in my dressing room, of my outfit. I have done this I guess now for the past 5 years. So many many pictures later (I know I did miss several days throughout, so it wasn’t 5 years without missing), but still, so many outfits later. It’s one of my favorite things to do. Making an outfit, using what I have in my closet, in as many different ways as I can.
I’m not really one to follow a lot of trends, and I don’t try to fit in, or even to worry about what people think of my outfit. If I like it, that’s good enough for me. I believe in style, and I believe we can all develop style…our style. And I believe I have good style that suits me and my personality.
Doing a post every week of my outfits, will give me way to look back at what I have worn, and my thoughts about it. Kind of like a style book with accompanying style notes. I decided to name these weekly segments, This Week in Outfits (and the date). It will be a Saturday column, and I wanted to get this post up on Saturday, but it didn’t happen. But here it is now…my past week in outfits.
This was a creative stretch of an outfit so to say. The top wasn’t really meant to be covered up with a cardigan, but I wanted to tone it down a bit. It is really more of an accent piece, but in this case today, I didn’t want it to stand out. Rather I wanted it to add just a small pop of color under a khaki cardigan. And these quilted top loafers were another texture to add to the mix. Overall, this outfit was casual and comfortable. An outfit I will wear again for sure.
This is my first Pioneer Woman shirt and I love it. It is comfortable, loose, and soft. It paired simply with jeans, and cowboy boots. Fun and comfortable.
A little more chic today, this outfit made me think of Ina Garten. She loves her button-up shirts and I do too. This button-up was a little long, so I paired it with a skinny pant, and what I call my Joanna Gaines shoes with socks. I am absolutely loving the sock trend right now. I want to continue the socks even when the trend is out of date, because I am believer that trends don’t matter and anything goes. I just didn’t think about wearing socks so much until recently, seeing the trend going around.
Ok, so I have realized now, that this shirt is not one to wear by itself again. It makes me look in a way I don’t wish to look. If I do wear this shirt again, I have to wear a cardigan or something button-up over it. Chock this one up as lesson-learned.
This outfit is not my best, but it works. The shirt is a little short. It would have faired much better with a longer button-up over it or sweater. But here we are. I love the shirt, but maybe I will try it with a skirt next time. I am not loving it with jeans.
I love this outfit! This was date night outfit. I am so glad it is fall and I can wear these white boots again. This outfit was chic and simple. We had catfish at a local Bar & Restaurant and then went home. Even the smallest of date nights is enjoyable when I am with the Hubby.
Well, I’ve got to get to work. I’m writing this before work which is my favorite time of day to write. So glad you stopped by for some outfit looks and style ideas.
