Setting Intentions For the Week
Hey friends! I hope you have had a great weekend. The work week is starting again and I have a lot to do. Work has been super busy lately, but I would rather be busy that not have work.
Today I want to discuss setting intentions for the week. Since I am an avid list maker, I always, and never miss, making a to do list(aka. intentions)for the week. But following through with what I want to accomplish is not always as easy as writing out the list. Each week though, I continue to write out that list, trying to get to everything I want to get to that week.
So you may be thinking that my list is things I need to do like pay bills, go to the doctor, call that friend, etc. Ok, so this list, is not that list. The list with all my actual to do’s like pay bills, is a whole other list. The intention list I do every week is more like a habit tracker list. I write down things I aspire to do and then strive to actually do those things. Things like working out, meditating, meal plans for the week, etc. It is important to me to do those things to better myself.
You may not do all of these everyday, but maybe a few days only. But the goal is to gradually start doing them everyday little by little. Over time, you will notice that you will start doing more and more of your intentions list every day. Making them habits.
Try setting an intentions list for the week. This list will have more goals like exercising, drinking 4 glasses of water a day, and so on. Writing out these things every week keeps them in the front of your mind all the time, reminding you what you really want to do and accomplish. We all have good intentions when we set out to do things, but many times we fall short. This little ritual will help keep us on our toes. Remember to be patient with yourself, and giving yourself grace because you will not ever be perfect, but the effort you put forth, you can be proud of. Celebrate the small wins/gains, and keep going.
